Our Guide to Concrete Footings: Depth, Concrete Volume and Curing Time
A concrete footing may be buried below ground level, but it plays a major role in a structure's long-term performance. From fence posts and decks to retaining walls, residential buildings and steel lighting poles, the footing transfers loads safely into the supporting soil.
Get the footing system wrong, and the structure may move, lean or crack. In more serious cases, part of the building may need to be repaired or re-levelled.
