How Do They Work?

A ChemSet Maxima capsule is a small glass capsule pre-filled with two components: an acrylic-based adhesive and a peroxide hardener. Each capsule is a single dose, pre-measured and sealed ready to go.

Installation is straightforward. You drill your hole to the required diameter and depth, clean it out thoroughly, then insert the capsule. A threaded stud is placed in a rotary hammer set to rotation-only mode, then spun through the capsule. The glass shatters, the two components mix together, and the resulting mortar bonds the stud firmly to the base material, be it concrete, stone or masonry.

Because the system works through chemical adhesion rather than mechanical expansion, there are no expansion forces acting on the surrounding concrete. That matters a lot when you’re working near slab edges or close to other fixings, where an expansion anchor might crack the base material or lose holding capacity.

Capsule vs. Cartridge: What’s the Difference?

Injectable chemical anchors, the type that come in a cartridge and are dispensed through a mixing nozzle, are excellent for larger jobs where you’re placing many anchors in sequence. But they come with a few practical trade-offs: part-used cartridges can harden in the nozzle, resin wastage adds up, and working overhead or in a confined space can make keeping the adhesive in the hole a real challenge.
