Australian Standards

Our standard range of Square SHS Poles are manufactured from SHS (Square Hollow Section) and designed to meet Australian Design Standards incorporating resultant wind actions in structural designs. Individual computerised engineering is available on all our poles.

Specifications

Our standard Square Poles range from 4 meters to 12 meters, however, we can design and manufacture poles to any height and width to suit the specific requirements of our clients. They are supplied standard as baseplate mounted, however, can also be supplied as direct burial.

Due to the size and dimension of the square section, these poles are better suited to lights that have integral control gear. However, they can be designed with a larger base in a stepped tube configuration to carry lighting control gear in the base section of the pole.

Custom Colours

Like the rest of our range, all Square SHS Poles are supplied galvanized, and can be powder coated in a variety of colours. Please view our powder coating specifications for more information.

SHS stands for "square hollow section." It is a type of square steel section that is used for columns and poles. You may find square hollow sections commonly used in construction and manufacturing. However, our SHS poles are generally used for smaller flood lights such as those in parks, schools, sporting courts, and shopping centres.

The standard range for SHS poles is 4m-12m, but they can be customised to any height that your project requires. These poles are usually used for the aesthetic square design.
